Japan's Cybersecurity adoption consensus report at the UN open-ended Working Group(OEWG)
The final meeting of the UN Open-ended Working Group on Cybersecurity was held online and the consensus report on rules in cyberspace was adopted unanimously.

March 15, Tokyo: The final meeting of the UN represented Japan by AKAHORI Takeshi, Deputy Assistant Minister, Foreign Policy Bureau (Ambassador for UN Affairs, Cyber Policy)
This consensus report presents the common understanding of the UN member states on threat awareness, norms, how international laws applies in cyberspace, confidence building, and capacity building in cyberspace. The application of international law, including the UN Charter, has once again been confirmed by all members of the UN. Japan has been actively involved in the preparation of the report in close cooperation with the international community from the standpoint of maintaining and developing a free, fair, and secure cyberspace. The draft of the consensus report agreed upon this time is expected to be submitted to the UN General Assembly (75th UN General Assembly) this year.
