Brazil and Israel discuss a partnership, aims to launch satellites together and land on the Moon
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations, Marcos Pontes, received the Israeli ambassador to Brazil, Yossi Shelley, to discuss the educational scientific partnership on the Beresheet program - the arrival of man on the Moon.

Feb 22, Sao Paulo: For Minister Marcos Pontes, bilateral cooperation in the space area between Brazil and Israel has “open paths” to advance, highlighting the importance, even, of the investment to be made that will remain in the local industry, which means technological leverage that will belong to Brazil.
“We have this project, called Beresheet Gênesis, to launch satellites together and land one on the Moon with the two flags - from Israel and Brazil, that is the goal - but before that, we have education in schools, we have technology development, and build this satellite here in Brazil, generate jobs and also add know-how to technology here in Brazil in the area of satellite that Israel is well developed ”, stressed the Israeli ambassador.
Yossi Shelley explained that the project must be implemented in a period of up to 5 years and that it will have several actors for the implementation, both public and private.
Space cooperation projects between countries may be developed in the areas of satellite operations and applications; Earth observation, including science and monitoring; space exploration systems, including robotics, rovers and optical systems; and technology development and demonstration.
