German bank to donate 25.5 million euros to project in the Legal Amazon

The objective is to expand and strengthen sustainable production practices in the meat, soy and wood chains.

Nov 26, Brasilia: The ministries of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture, Livestock and Supply signed, on Tuesday (24), an agreement that foresees the donation, by the German state bank “Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau” (KfW), of up to 25.5 million euros to the project “Innovation in Agricultural Productive Chains for Forest Conservation in the Legal Amazon”. The objective is to expand and strengthen sustainable production practices in the meat, soy and wood chains in states of the Legal Amazon.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has coordinated technical and financial cooperation between Brazil and Germany, focused on sustainable development, with a focus on promoting projects in the areas of environmental protection and energy efficiency.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, in turn, will be in charge of carrying out the project, in partnership with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).
