Brazil Military personnel act in Logistic Support and in the security of the 2nd shift of elections
The role of the Navy, Army and Air Force is necessary for places with difficult access to the Electoral Justice.

Nov 28, Brasilia: The second round of the 2020 municipal elections will take place on Sunday (29). Brazilian voters will be able to define government and city hall representatives, with the support of the Armed Forces in Logistic Support and in the Guarantee of Voting and Counting (GVA).
The role of the Navy, Army and Air Force is necessary for places with difficult access to the Electoral Justice. Logistical support occurs through the displacement of electronic ballot boxes and electoral agents to the localities. So far, in the second round, this transport will be carried out in the municipality of Paquetá, in Rio de Janeiro.

GVA actions, in turn, are carried out in the locations indicated by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) after the manifestation of the Regional Electoral Courts (TREs). So far, military assistance will be provided in 40 locations, distributed in the states of Acre, Amazonas, Maranhão and Ceará. The military will act to guarantee the safety of the population, in addition to ensuring the normality of the voting and full counting of the results in the locations that need reinforcement.

First-round
The Armed Forces transported more than 720 people and 23 thousand kilos of material, between electronic ballot boxes and other items for the Electoral Justice, in the first round. In carrying out the activities, 145 ships and vessels were employed, about 2 thousand vehicles and 24 aircraft, adding up to a total of 182 flight hours.
