Strategic tourist routes in Brazil undergo diagnosis
The study will be essential to plan infrastructure improvements and provide more comfort, safety and viability to tourists.
Nov 18, Brasilia: The mapping and diagnosis of 30 strategic tourist routes in Brazil began, distributed in 158 municipalities and covered by the Investe Turismo program. The partnership, signed between the Ministry of Tourism and the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in October, will allow outlining the conditions of transportation on these routes, including the existing structure, integration of the modes and the availability of information to tourists.
In the assessment of the national secretary of Attraction for Investments, Partnerships and Concessions of the Ministry of Tourism, Lucas Fiuza, the offer of infrastructure and integration between the various modes of transport is crucial for the development of tourist destinations.
"This diagnosis will be fundamental for us to be able to plan infrastructure improvements on these routes and provide more comfort, safety and viability to tourists when travelling," justifies the secretary. "Thus, we will provide opportunities for investments in the sector and important partnerships that will generate more jobs and income in Brazil."
The mapping will cover the road, rail, water and air modes of the 30 tourist routes of the Investe Turismo program and will make it possible to plan the best conditions for tourist passenger transport.
Survey of laws and resolutions that can be improved and mapping of infrastructure and services of tourist routes, including visits, are already underway.
In addition to the diagnosis of specific needs regarding the displacement of people, the partnership with the university provides for the development of a training strategy for local public sectors and private entities linked to tourism. And yet, the development of a georeferenced base with the main elements of infrastructure and information from the 30 tourist routes.
Investe Turismo
The Investe Turismo program is a joint effort between the Ministry of Tourism, the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service ( Sebrae) and the Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion ( Embratur) to accelerate development, increase the quality and competitiveness of 30 routes strategic tourist destinations in 158 municipalities in the country. The program provides for investments and incentives for new businesses, access to credit, improvement of services, innovation and marketing.
