Operation Verde Brasil 2 is extended until April 2021
Employment of the Armed Forces continues on the border, in indigenous lands, in federal units of environmental conservation and in other federal areas of the Legal Amazon

Nov 14, Amazonas: One day after completing 6 months of preventive and repressive actions against environmental crimes in the Legal Amazon region, Operation Verde Brasil 2 was extended until April 30, 2021.
According to the edition of the Official Gazette (DOU) of this Thursday (12th), under the coordination of the Ministry of Defense, the operation will continue the use of the Armed Forces in the Guarantee of Law and Order and in subsidiary actions in the border strip, in the indigenous lands, in the federal units of environmental conservation and in other federal areas in the states of the Legal Amazon.

Operation Green Brazil 2
Operation Verde Brasil 2 was launched on May 11, 2020, to combat outbreaks of fire, deforestation and illegal mining in the Legal Amazon region.
The mission is coordinated by the Joint Operations Center of the Ministry of Defense and has the support of the Joint North Command (CCjN), the Joint Amazon Command (CCjA), the Joint West Command (CCjO) and the Aerospace Operations Command (Comae), of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
