Sep 8, The provision of public services to citizens, through digital means, continues to advance. Now 918 are scanned in 20 months. This represents savings of more than R $ 2 billion and the possibility to resolve 88.6 million demands per year without requiring displacement of the population. Currently, 60% of the 3,700 Federal Government services are available in digital form, both in applications from official government stores and on the Gov.br portal.

“In 20 months of our administration, we have promoted the digital transformation of 900 federal public services that were previously accessible only through in-person channels. The person had to travel, take transport, stand in line, withdraw a password. Now they are accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by means of a cell phone or computer ”, said the Secretary of Digital Government of the Ministry of Economy, Luiz Felipe Monteiro when participating, this Tuesday (8), in a debate with the theme "The Challenge of Digitizing Governments and Public Services".

And with Covid-19, the transformation of services into digital has been accelerated to make life easier for citizens. Of the 918 services turned into digital since January last year, 345 were launched in this period of social isolation caused by the new coronavirus. This means offering three new ones online every two days, since March.

The most sought services in the period with Covid-19 are withdrawal of the salary allowance, application for Unemployment Insurance, registration in the Federal Government's Single Registry for Social Programs, request for R $ 600 Emergency Aid and obtaining the Work Card.

The secretary pointed out that the Federal Government services that are available in digital form have 71% of positive evaluation from users.

“It is good for the government because the service is much cheaper, it is good for the digitally included citizen who has the convenience of doing this at any time and it is good for the citizen who is not included. As the branches are still open and available to serve you when he gets there, there is no queue, no waiting ”, evaluated Luiz Felipe Monteiro.

Benefits for citizens and government

The government's goal is to digitize 100% of federal public services by 2022. Of the total of R $ 2 billion saved with the digital transformation in 20 months, R $ 1.5 billion is savings for society by eliminating the need for users to go to agencies of public agencies, spending on transport and having time, for example.

“For the citizen, the benefit is even greater. We returned 150 million hours, that is equivalent to a working day in the whole of São Paulo, ”said Digital Government Secretary Luiz Felipe Monteiro about the time savings that digital services generate for the population.

The government also saves by eliminating bureaucracy, reducing the use of paper, hiring personnel for face-to-face service and reducing losses from errors and fraud.

"Transforming the government into digital, our economy will be more digital because the government is present in all relations," said the secretary.
