Sep 8, During the inspection against environmental crimes last Sunday (6), the Conjunto Conjunto Oeste (CCjO) applied 247 fines, accounting for R $ 220,429,439.92. On the same day, soldiers from the Conjunto Amazonia Command (CCjA) and ICMBio agents imposed seven fines on offenders working in the Cazumbá-Iracema Extractive Reserve, in Sena Madureira, Acre, in the amount of R $ 1,520,000.00.


The CCjA soldiers also work in naval inspection on several rivers in the states of Amazonas, Acre, Roraima and Rondônia, using means from the 9th Naval District. Ibama agents remain in the fight against deforestation, in the locations of Mirante da Serra and Nova União, in Rondônia, and in 17 environmental preservation units in that state, in addition to Acre and Amazonas.


The Amazon Command also helped combat 16 fires and counted the inspection of 150 vehicles, 145 vessels and an aircraft, in Caracaraí, Roraima, Guajará-Mirim and Porto Velho, Rondônia, and Manaus and Parintins, in Amazonas.


Military personnel from the Conjunto Norte Command (CCjN), inspected several rivers in locations in the states of Pará, Maranhão and Amapá, using means from the 4th Naval District. 93 vessels were inspected in Polo Itaituba, Pará. Military personnel and agents of this Command also fought three fires in the rural area of ​​the municipalities of São Félix do Xingu, Bom Jesus do Tocantins and Canaã dos Carajás, in addition to two fires. in Novo Progresso, also in Pará.


Results

Since the outbreak of Operation Verde Brasil 2, on May 11, military personnel and agents from partner agencies have carried out 30,100 naval and land inspections, surveys and searches on vessels, of which 815 have been apprehended. At the roadblock and control posts, 328 vehicles were detained for irregularities. A volume of more than 29.4 thousand cubic meters of illegal wood was also confiscated, as well as 969 mobile sawmill machines, tractors, mining machinery, rafts, dredgers and accessories were seized. To date, more than R $ 927.2 million have been applied to fines and infraction terms.


Operation Verde Brasil 2

Operation Verde Brasil 2 is coordinated by the Ministry of Defense. It is within the scope of the National Council of the Amazon (CNA), a council regulated by the Vice-Presidency of the Republic in support of environmental control and public security bodies. The mission launched by the Federal Government, on May 11, 2020, aims at preventive and repressive actions against environmental crimes in the Legal Amazon.
