The program's goal is to serve 15,000 startups in the coming years, according to the Ministry of Economy.
Nov 19, Brasilia: Inovativa Brasil, the largest startup acceleration program in Latin America, was, for the second consecutive year, in first place in the 100 Open Startups ranking, an initiative to support innovative entrepreneurship.
Inovativa Brasil is a project of the Federal Government, through the Special Secretariat for Productivity, Employment and Competitiveness, the Ministry of Economy, and the Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Enterprises ( Sebrae).
“The program was indeed awarded, but, most importantly, is that our startups, the startups that participated in Inovativa, are also standing out. Of the hundred best-selected startups, 29 went through the program, 29 were accelerated by Inovativa ”, commemorates the Under Secretary of Innovation of the Ministry of Economy, Igor Nazareth.
And, as the undersecretary announced, Inovativa Brasil has a lot of news ahead of it. “Inovativa, which today is a startup acceleration program, will become a major hub for startups. What does that mean? We will continue with the acceleration initiatives, where more than 2,200 startups have already passed, but we will have other fronts, such as, for example, the ecosystem ”, says Nazareth. According to him, through this ecosystem, the program wants to interconnect and connect these startups with large Brazilian companies, in all regions of the country.
Another challenge of the program, according to the undersecretary, is to offer distance training courses. “It's free online content that will support these startups and entrepreneurs during their development,” he adds.
Inovativa Brasil's goal is to serve 15,000 startups in the coming years. "And we will do this for free with our top-level mentors to support all startups interested in the program," says the undersecretary.
What is a startup?
The startup is an English term used to define companies that are still young or newly created and have great possibilities for growth. They are characterized by being a business that grows much faster and more efficiently than a traditional small or medium-sized company. Startups enter the market to seek capital and use digital technologies to grow and find financing.
Inovativa Brasil is the first step for any startup in Brazil to raise funds and win customers. The main objective of the program is to help innovative entrepreneurs with good technology, but little knowledge and experience in business, guiding their first steps in the market.
