In addition, more than 1,200 logistical support actions were carried out for the Safety and Environmental Protection agencies and 36,774 litres of fuel were seized.

Integration

The Integrated Amazon Protection Group (Gipam) is responsible for defining the monitoring areas for environmental defence actions. Gipam is coordinated by the Amazon Protection System Management and Operational Center (Censipam), an agency under the Ministry of Defense.

Remote sensing mechanisms, such as satellites, radars and aerial surveys, are used to select target regions.

The action of the military in Operation Green Brazil 2 allows the presence of the State in several regions in a short period of time. Thus, the use of means, such as helicopters, various aircraft, ships, boats, vehicles, and the establishment of advanced support bases allow the widest possible action for environmental agents.
