Federal University Hospital in Rio de Janeiro opens registration for Medical Residence
There are 92 vacancies in more than 40 areas. Deadline for registration is October 27
Oct 25, Registration is now open for Medical Residence 2021 at Hospital Universitário Antônio Pedro (Huap), of the Brazilian Hospital Services Company (Ebserh), linked to the Ministry of Education. There are more than 40 specialities, totalling 92 places. Programs such as Anesthesiology, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Cardiology, Infectious Diseases and Neurosurgery are some of the options. The selection process is organized by the hospital's Medical Residency Committee (Coreme). The test will be held on January 31, 2021, and, due to Covid-19, some changes will be made for the safety of the participants.
The main precautionary measures for contact and traceability of infections are mandatory to use of a mask during the entire test; checking the temperature at the time of admission to the place; pre-determined spaced seats to maintain distance; hand hygiene recommendation with gel alcohol, available at the entrance of the room; and decrease in the duration of the test, from 4:30 to 2:30.
“We rescheduled the test for January with the hope that the situation [at this moment when facing Covid-19] is better than in November, which is when it is traditionally done. It was never this late. It was also important to shorten this test time, as you have to take into account that the candidate must arrive an hour before, being added to the duration. So, we reduced the number of questions. Last year's test had 80 questions. Now there will be 50 questions ”, explains the General Coordinator of Coreme, Professor Wolney Martins.
The professor adds that double the number of classrooms will be available so that there is the correct distance between the candidates. Another novelty this year is the elimination of curriculum evaluation to avoid displacement of candidates and the meeting of evaluators.
