Daniil Medvedev defeats Greece’s Tsitsipas, enters Australian Open final
The Russian tennis player will face Spain’s Rafael Nadal on January 30

Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev defeated Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-final of the Australian Open - the first Grand Slam tournament of the season.
The match ended with 7:6 (7:5), 4:6, 6:4, 6:1 score in Russia’s favor. Now, Medvedev will face Spain’s Rafael Nadal. The match will take place on January 30.
Medvedev, 25, holds the second place in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). He holds 13 titles under this association’s aegis. He won the 2021 US Open tournament.
Tsitsipas, 23, is the world’s No.4, he holds seven ATP titles. His best Grand Slam result was entering the final of the 2021 French Open.
The current champion of the Australian Open is Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, who skips the current tournament because of violation of anti-COVID measures in Australia.
