Brazil VIGIA program seizes cocaine of about 450 kg in Mato Grosso
Integrated action between state and federal public security agents resulted in a loss of more than R $ 15 million to criminals.

March 17, Sao Paulo: Operating at the Brazil / Bolivia border, in Mato Grosso (MT), the National Border and Border Security Program (VIGIA), of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), seized approximately 450 kg of cocaine hydrochloride, a loss of R $ 15 million to organized crime.
After receiving information on drug trafficking, security forces went to check the status of an aircraft. On the airstrip, the police found the abandoned vehicle and 11 large bags of drugs left near the site, equivalent to 450 kg of the substance.
The action took place last Sunday (14), in the municipality of Tangará da Serra (MT), and was jointly promoted by the teams of the Special Border Security Group (GEFRON-MT), the Federal Police and the Military Police from Tangará da Serra (MT).
VIGIA Program
VIGIA's main proposal is prevention and repression, with the aim of strengthening the fight against crime, with a focus on criminal organizations, trafficking, corruption, smuggling, embezzlement, crimes against intellectual property, money laundering and activities in the border area and in-state currencies, using modern management and governance methodologies.
VIGIA has as axes of action: integrated operations, equipment acquisition, training and operational bases with systems integration.
