Sep 14, Infrastructure: To encourage and strengthen the participation of women in the transport infrastructure sector, the Ministry of Infrastructure signed, on Monday (14), a protocol of intentions with Infra Women Brazil. The non-profit association is dedicated to encouraging the presence of women in the sector.

The protocol of intentions provides for mutual collaboration for the development and joint execution of programs and projects, the exchange of structured practices and the strengthening of the presence of women in the transport infrastructure sector.

The Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, celebrated the importance of the protocol and said that women should have more and more space in the area. He highlighted the growing number of women in public administration infrastructure sectors.

“We built an extremely feminine team. We have, for the first time, a director of Dnit [National Department of Transport Infrastructure] who is the director of the waterway infrastructure. We have women in the advisory, in the office, coordinators, in relevant functions and, soon, we will have greater female participation also in the boards of the regulatory agencies. This is for a simple reason, for dedication, for devotion, for knowledge, ”said Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas.

Cycle of debates

The signing of the protocol of intentions to encourage the presence of women in the infrastructure sector marked the opening of a cycle of joint seminars between Infra Women Brazil and the Ministry of Infrastructure to discuss arbitration and mediation in the public administration.

Minister Tarcísio de Freitas said that the debate on arbitration is essential for the moment as the theme is gaining relevance and will be important for the ministry's first pillar of action, which is the massive transfer of assets to the private sector.

“This partnership is extremely welcome, timely. It intercepts our strategy in at least two pillars, the transfer of assets to the private sector and also the resolution of liabilities, ”said the Minister of Infrastructure.

The debates take place between this Monday and October 9 with the participation of a group of speakers specialized in mediation and arbitration in the public administration composed mainly of women. Among the themes is The choice of the Arbitration and Advertising Chamber in the scope of arbitration with public administration.

Infra Women Brazil was founded in early 2020, dedicated to promoting and encouraging the presence of women in the infrastructure sector. The initiative already brings together more than 200 members from the most diverse sectors of the infrastructure segment.
