Brazil announced the released of R $ 19 million to strengthen Ceará's public security
The state was one of the first to join the SUSP Task Force to Combat Organized Crime, launched in January this year.
Feb 17, Sao Paulo: The Minister of Justice and Public Security, André Mendonça, announced the release of R $ 19 million to strengthen public security in Ceará. The transfer, which can be applied to the acquisition of equipment, technology and other areas of public security, was communicated during a visit to the state, where it fulfils the “Public Security Agenda 2021. Unified Public Security System strengthened, safer citizen”.
The action is part of the strategies of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) for joint, systemic, integrated and coordinated action by the Federal Government with the states in the fight against organized crime and violent crime.
“Unfortunately, we have lived in the past 30 years with a growing grip on organized crime. Ceará has been a victim of this process, with the arrival of some criminal organizations to the state. And we are establishing a partnership that is permanent. Public security is a state policy. It goes beyond governments, beyond governors, it aims to serve a good, an essential value of the citizen, which is security, which is the right to life, to their freedom, to their heritage and to be able to come and go with tranquillity to take your child to school, to go to work, to be able to go for a walk ”, highlighted the minister.

Minister André Mendonça also delivered the Diploma of Honor to the Merit of Public Security and Social Defense to six public security professionals from Ceará who stood out in carrying out their duties.
Task forces
Ceará was one of the first states to join the SUSP Task Forces Program to Combat Organized Crime, launched in January this year by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. The objective is to reduce the indicators of crimes committed by members of criminal organizations, such as homicide, robbery, drug trafficking, theft from banks, cargo and vehicles.
