Agreement to combat crimes against the transport sector in Brazil

Nov 14, Sao Paulo: The executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, Tércio Issami Tokano, and the president of the National Transport Confederation (CNT) and the National Councils for Social Transport Service and the National Transport Training Service (SEST SENAT), Vander Costa, signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement (ACT) to implement an integrated national policy to face serious manifestations of organized crime and violent crime that affect cargo and passenger transport activities in the country.

“When it comes to numbers of thefts and losses, the losses are not just for the sector. They all lose. This is reflected in the issue of unemployment, in the price of products, in attracting investments. And we, the Public Power, have this perception. I am sure that after this agreement, many activities, courses, training, programs and actions will be successful and will bring again to those who need it most ”, emphasizes the executive secretary on the ACT signed this Tuesday ( 12).
The agreement will allow the sharing of statistical data and information of strategic interest for risk analysis and action planning to inhibit crimes, such as theft of cargo and passenger vehicles.
The document foresees the expansion of actions for the exchange of content and experiences through training courses aimed at professionals who work directly and indirectly in the cargo and passenger transport sector. The agreement also proposes clarification campaigns to promote debate and propose innovative solutions to tackle cargo theft and violent crime.
