When travelling, Brazilians have their eye on security protocols

More than 23.2 thousand establishments have already subscribed to the “Responsible Tourism - Clean and Safe” seal of the Ministry of Tourism

Nov 2, Brasilia: To resume travel after a period of social isolation caused by Covid-19, the Brazilian is attentive to health security protocols. Six out of ten people consider it essential that these protocols be complied with while travelling. When choosing hotels, more than 82% of travellers think it is important to have measures that guarantee the safety of tourists' health.

The data are from a survey conducted by Elo / TRVL Lab and released by the Ministry of Tourism. One way to find out if the establishment follows hygiene measures is to check if it has the “Responsible Tourism - Clean and Safe” seal, launched in June this year by the Ministry of Tourism. The idea is to allow tourists to feel safer to travel and visit places that comply with specific protocols for the prevention of Covid-19.

“The Ministry of Tourism understands that the seal is the first stage of the National Plan for the Resumption of Tourism. We need to gain the confidence of the tourist, the consumer, that the place he will visit, enjoy, hire, meets the minimum security requirements ”, explained the national secretary for tourism development and competitiveness, William França.

“In the case of our seal, all protocols were reviewed and approved by Anvisa [National Health Surveillance Agency], that is, it meets health and biosafety protocols,” added França.

Tourism agencies and lodging facilities were the segments that most requested adhesion to the seal. Next are tour guides, tourist carriers, restaurants, coffee shops, bars and the like. The states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Bahia and the Rio Grande do Sul have the most establishments with the seal.

So far, more than 23,200 establishments have participated in the project, according to the Ministry of Tourism. The initiative is available for 15 types of tourist activities. Among them, lodging facilities, theme parks, convention centres, fairs and exhibitions.
