Ukraine-Poland agree to consolidate International support of Ukraine amid Russia' growing aggression

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba conducted negotiations with Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Zbigniew Rau, who was on an urgent visit to Ukraine on April 8, 2021, at the invitation of Ukraine's Foreign Minister.

April 8, Ukraine: Dmytro Kuleba informed Zbigniew Rau in detail on Russia's systematic actions to aggravate the security situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the buildup of Russian troops at the borders of our state, and the increase in the intensity of Russian propaganda.

Zbigniew Rau expressed concerns over Russia's actions and assured that Poland consistently and firmly supports Ukraine in its struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The leaders of the Ukrainian and Polish diplomacies agreed to make joint efforts to consolidate effective international support of Ukraine in countering Russia's aggression. The parties discussed the deepening of military-political cooperation.

Poland expressed support for Ukraine's course towards full membership in the EU and NATO.

The Ministers discussed energy security, particularly in the context of the Nord Stream-2 project.

Dmytro Kuleba and Zbigniew Rau exchanged views on Poland's forthcoming chairmanship of the OSCE, paid special attention to the issue of strengthening cooperation between Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania in the "Lublin Triangle" format, as well as the preparation of the "Crimean Platform" inaugural summit.

"Our countries share a common vision of Europe's past and future. Ukraine is an integral part of a unified, free, and peaceful Europe, and its accession to the EU and NATO will become a logical step in the historical process," said Dmytro Kuleba.

The Ministers agreed on joint efforts to increase trade and investment and create new opportunities for businesses in the two countries.

They also discussed military-technical, cross-border, and trans-border cooperation, the preservation of cultural and historical heritage, the tackling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
