Chelsea defender, Thiago Silva joins the team of ambassadors of BRAZILIAN SCHOOL GAMES (JEB's) 2021

Considered one of the most technical defenders of world football, Thiago Silva is the newest ambassador of the Brazilian School Games (JEB's) 2021.

March 13, Sao Paulo: With the Chelsea defender's adherence, 17 sport idols are confirmed at the event, which will take place between October 29 and November 5, in Rio de Janeiro.

The Chelsea player accepted the invitation of the Special Secretary for Sport, of the Ministry of Citizenship, Marcelo Magalhães, and joined the stellar team of ambassadors for the competition, which now has 17 members. “I am very happy and honoured with this invitation. I hope that everyone can have a great competition in pursuit of their goals. Much success to all ”, declared Thiago Silva.

In the group of ambassadors, Thiago Silva has the company of two colleagues who made history on the pitch: Emerson Sheik and Zico. There is also another ace of the ball, the futsal star Falcão. Complete the team of stars Nenê Hilário (17 years for the NBA), Sandro Dias, Mineirinho (multi-champion in skateboarding), Daniel Dias (14 golds in swimming in Paralympic Games), Arthur Zanetti (Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics), Maurren Maggi ( only Brazilian Olympic champion in athletics), Jacqueline Silva (Olympic champion in beach volleyball), Serginho and Giba (Olympic champions in volleyball), André Domingos (Olympic medalist in athletics), Mayra Aguiar (two-time world champion in judo and twice Olympic medalist ), Flávia Saraiva (featured in the artistic gymnastics selection), José Aldo (two-time UFC champion) and Renzo Gracie (master in jiu-jitsu).

Champion with the Brazilian Confederations Cup in 2013 and Copa America in 2019, bronze medal in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and silver in London 2012, Thiago Silva was also champion of the Brazil Cup in 2007 by Fluminense and won several titles international standards.

The 2021 Brazilian School Games will bring together more than 6,200 athletes from the 27 units of the Federation in Rio de Janeiro between October 29 and November 5. The competition will have disputes in 17 modalities: athletics, basketball, futsal, handball, judo, volleyball, beach volleyball, swimming, table tennis, chess, karate, wrestling, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, badminton, cycling and taekwondo. In addition, the event will feature the following demonstration modalities: skateboarding, climbing, dancing, curling and water polo.

The Brazilian School Games are organized by the Brazilian School Sports Confederation (CBDE), in partnership with the Special Sport Secretariat, of the Ministry of Citizenship, and have the support of the Student Sports Federation of Rio de Janeiro (FEERJ).
